Guilt

Only a good person feels guilt.

Make a distinction between true guilt and false guilt.

Here's How:

  1. Turn Shame to Guilt
  2. Question if Guilt is Warranted
  3. Take on the Responsibility

Here's Why:

  1. If shame is the story of hiding, Guilt is the story of fault.
    Six types of guilt:
    i. Negligence guilt
    ii. Overestimation of control guilt
    iii. Pleasure guilt
    iv. Survivor guilt
    v. Self-Blame guilt
    vi. Innocent-bystander guilt
    (Hat Tip to Jamie Lusk)

  2. The main thing is to make a distinction between true guilt and false guilt. False guilt makes us self-critical and self-punishing.

  3. We move from Freedom to Responsibility, and then to a land of Adventure.
